My Favorite Garage Organizational Products

As you read back in this post, the remodel of our home will include detaching our existing, original garage and moving it to the back corner of our lot.  This will allow us to extend the back of our house out ever so slightly to accommodate a larger kitchen, additional bedroom upstairs and more functional mudroom.  But it will also allow us to build a garage that fits modern day vehicles and provides adequate storage for our seemingly endless garage inventory.

Today I'm rounding up some of our go-to products for organizing our garage and the ones we are dreaming about adding to our new garage.

storage totes    |    garage vac    |    hardware cabinet

tall cabinet    |    gear wall panels    |    work bench    |    drawer unit    |    base cabinet

rack w/ bins    |    wall hooks    |    shelving unit

I've pretty much become obsessed with the Gladiator line of products.  The 'Gear Wall Panels' I've linked to come in a 2 pack, 1 foot high x 8 feet long that you can literally line your garage walls with and customize with their wide range of hooks, bins and baskets that hold a startling amount of weight.  Check out this assortment to get you started.

If you didn't need a full wall of storage, these 4 foot wall channels that come in a set of 2 are a really tidy and cost effective way to gain smart looking storage.

Our garage hosts a wide range of my husband's hobbies from motorcycles, to vintage car repair to landscaping and more.  I really like that the Gladiator system has casters that can be added to all of their closed storage options making it easy to rearrange as your needs change.  In my perfect garage, I'd have all my husband's tools organized in a beauty like this.

California Closets actually has a few lines of pretty amazing looking garage cabinets.  There is definitely a premium to be paid when you start looking at custom options, but if the budget allows for it, they are definitely worth considering.  I love how they used the space in this transformation.  When weighing pros and cons for any storage solution, maintenance is always a consideration for me.  Would I feel obligated to clean the cabinets if I went the custom route?  Would I be ok with them wearing and tearing with abuse from a family of 6?  Like any big investment, take the time to think about how it will improve or hinder your quality of life.

I'd love to hear what works in your own garage!  I'm always up for learning new systems or products for organizing.  Hope you were able to get out and enjoy the warmer temps this weekend and maybe even get a jump on garage clean out.
