Lighting I'm Loving

Lighting is one of the easiest ways to completely transform a space. Not only does it bring a level of warmth and ambiance, it can act as a focal point or building block for tailoring a space.

When selling homes, light fixtures are often an area of the home we update prior to listing. Observing trends in new construction is an easy way to appeal to the masses. Introducing some of those same fixtures in your home can be a strategy for drawing buyers in. Sources like Wayfair, Menards and Amazon all have affordable price points that make updating fixtures throughout your home a cost-effective solution.

We’ve been on the hunt for lighting for our own home renovation and I’ve definitely noticed some common denominators in the fixtures I’m gravitating toward. Traditional shapes with powder-coated finishes, texture, woven, fluted, brass and white - quieter pieces that could layer into any palette. The more we make selections for our own project, the simpler the aesthetic is feeling. Lots of white and blue - a simple canvas for layering in color with furnishings, rugs and art. Here’s a glimpse at the direction I’m finding myself going compiled primarily from the web. What are your favorite sources for lighting? Do you like your lighting to make a statement or fall into its surroundings?
